Day 1: Transfer to Akagera National Park and the Ihema Boat Cruise.

Day 1: Transfer to Akagera National Park and the Ihema Boat Cruise.
Your guide from Salt Holidays will meet you at your agreed-upon location in Kigali and transfer you to Akagera National Park, where you will arrive in time to participate in the afternoon boat cruise on Lake Ihema, where you will see game such as hippopotamuses, crocodiles, and many bird species such as the endangered shoe bill stork, African King fishers catching their prey from the lake, and the swamps that surround the lake. Transfer to your pack for supper and overnight stay at Karenge Bush Camp (budget), Akagera Game Lodge (mid-range).
Day 2: full-day game drive with transfer to Kigali.
Rise early and embark on a game drive in hopes of spotting various creatures such as herbivores, Rwanda’s big five, which rise early to graze, and predators searching for their early morning meal. After the game drive, return to your driver guide to begin your transport back to Kigali. If you did not have a city tour on the first day, you can have one on this day before being left off in Kigali or at the airport, as you like.
Day 3: Early morning game drive, then transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park.
Rise early and go for a game drive, excited to witness the many animals that rise early to graze and predators searching for their early morning meal. After the game drive, return to the lodge to freshen up before continuing on your journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park, where you will have lunch en route and arrive late afternoon to enjoy an evening game drive. Dinner and overnight accommodations at Park View Lodge (midrange) and Mweya Safari Lodge (luxury).
Day 5: Chimpanzee tracking in Kalinzu and transfer to Bwindi.
Have an early breakfast and go chimp tracking in Kalinzu forest on the Queen Elizabeth Park boundaries. The activity lasts 3 to 4 hours, followed by a journey to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, with lunch on route at Ntungamo or Kabale town. Proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park via the Ishasha Sector, arriving in the evening. Dinner and overnight accommodations at Ichumbi Gorilla Lodge (midrange) and Silverback Gorilla Lodge (luxury).
Day 6: Gorilla Trekking Uganda – Bwindi
You will have an early breakfast and then transfer to the park headquarters with your packed lunch and bottled water for a 7:00 a.m. briefing by the park ranger guides. Following the briefing, you will begin your gorilla trekking expedition, accompanied by ranger guides, in search of mountain gorillas, which will take 2 to 8 hours depending on the gorillas’ movements.

After your gorilla safari in Uganda, you will have your lunch packs before being transferred to your hotel. The remainder of the time can be spent on a village tour or relaxing at the hotel as you reminisce about your gorilla hike in Bwindi and prepare for the following day. Dinner and stay at Ichumbi Gorilla Lodge (mid-range) or Silverback Gorilla Lodge (luxury), as described above.
Day 7: Fly to Entebbe Airport.
After breakfast, depart to Kihihi airfield for your afternoon scheduled flight to Entebbe, marking the conclusion of your Uganda safari.
