Choosing to participate in this 4 days Akagera National Park and Bwindi Impenetrable National Park safari will allow you to see the big five animals in Akagera Park and the endangered mountain gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for a memorable Uganda and Rwanda safari exploring the wild.
Visiting Akagera National Park will take you to Lake Ihema, where you can see a variety of water birds, including kingfishers, as well as a variety of animal species such as elephants quenching their thirst, buffaloes taking a dip in the water source, and many other rewarding features in the wild.
When you visit Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, you will be able to participate in gorilla trekking, which will allow you to see a variety of different features as you hike through the different sectors of the park and participate in the various activities for a rewarding safari experience.
Highlights of 4 Days Akagera & Bwindi Safari
Day 1: Transfer to Akagera National Park and the Ihema Boat Cruise.
Day 2: Early morning game Drive, followed by transfer to Kigali.
Day 3: Transfer to the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.
Day 4: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi and Back to Kigali

Day 1: Transfer to Akagera National Park and the Ihema Boat Cruise.
Your driver guide will meet you at your agreed-upon location in Kigali and transfer you to Akagera National Park, where you will arrive in time for a late afternoon boat cruise on Lake Ihema, where you will see hippopotamuses, crocodiles, and a variety of bird species that live in the lake and surrounding swamps. Dinner and overnight at the Akagera Game Lodge
Day 2: Game drive in the early morning, followed by transfer to Kigali.
Rise early and go for a game drive, excited to see the various animals that rise early to graze and predators looking for their early morning kill. After the game drive, reconnect with your driver guide to begin your transfer back to Kigali for lunch. You will take a city tour, visiting the Kimironko market and the Kigali Genocide Memorial Centre, and return to your accommodation before nightfall. Dinner and overnight at the Step Town Motel.
Day 3: Transfer to the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.
After breakfast, you will be picked up from your Kigali hotel and transferred to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park via the Katuna border, arriving in time for lunch. Bwindi is the home of gorillas in Uganda . Spend your evening at leisure. Dinner and overnight stay at Buhoma Haven Lodge.
Day 4: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi and Back to Kigali
You will have an early breakfast and then transfer to the park headquarters with your packed lunch and bottled water for a 7:00 a.m. briefing by the park ranger guides. After the briefing, you will begin your gorilla trekking journey, accompanied by ranger guides, in search of mountain gorillas, which will take 2 to 8 hours depending on the gorillas’ movements. After the trek, you will enjoy your lunch packs before being transferred back to Kigali, where you will arrive in the evening. Drop off at the airport or your hotel in Kigali.
