2 Days Rwanda Gorilla Trek
The 2 days Rwanda gorilla trek will not only offer you with a gorilla trek experience but it will come with a lot of experiences and other encounters. You will be transferred to Volcanoes national park on day one but you will first have city around Kigali before you are taken to the park. You will visit places like Rwanda art museum, Kigali genocide memorial and end with musanze caves. On day 2, you will engage in a gorilla trek and you will have a visit to Iby’iwacu cultural center with a stop over at Kimironko market for souvenirs before you are transferred back to Kigali airport.

Day 1 : Pick up from Kigali airport and transfer to Volcanoes National Park
A representative guide from Visit Rwanda Tours will meet you on the first day of the 2 days Rwanda gorilla trek at Kigali Airport. The guide will exchange greetings with you and after he will guide you to your next program. You will conduct a city tour in Kigali with the guide and you will commence this city tour with a visit to Kigali genocide memorial. At Kigali genocide memorial, you will be handled by a guided who will explain to you all the details about this memorial ground. You will learn about the 1994 Rwanda genocide information and you will get to see the remains of those that engaged in this genocide.
A guide will then take you to your second destination that is the Rwanda art museum. At Rwanda art museum, you will get the opportunity to see and admire the beauty of the art pieces that are drawn by the artists of Rwanda. The painting that are kept at Rwanda art museum showcase the history of Rwanda. A guide will take you to a tour around this museum and you will be able to see all the details about this place. After touring Rwanda art museum, you will be transferred to a hotel within Kigali so that you have your lunch meal.
In the afternoon after having lunch, you will head to Musanze caves for a visit. These caves are important in the history of Rwanda and they carry a lot of details about the events that transpired in the ancient days. Though these caves are now a home to a number of bats, they were once a dwelling place for the refugees after the 1994 Rwanda genocide. The musanze caves were once used as a place to crown the kings of Rwanda back in the days. It will take you about 2 hours to explore musanze caves while you trek through the tunnels where you will have an encounter with the bats.
A guide will after transfer you to Volcanoes National Park and when you arrive, you will report at the park offices where you will connect to the lodge where you will spend the night. Volcanoes national park, there are various accommodation facilities including the luxury lodges, midrange lodge and budget lodges. So you will select a lodge if your choice and you check in. After checking in and resting for while, you will head for your dinner meal and after you will retire to bed.

Day 2 : Gorilla trekking and transfer to Kigali airport
You will have breakfast in the morning at the lodge and you will prepare for the activity that is going to take place that day. A guide will pick you from the lodge and transfer you to the park headquarters where you will get guidance on how you will conduct a gorilla trek in volcanoes national park. The guides at the park headquarters will explain to you each and every detail that you need to know before you embark on this gorilla trekking activity and once they are done with briefing you, you will be handed over to the ranger guide who will escort you to carry out this activity.
You will trek through the forest in search of these gorillas which will take you several hours to locate where they are. These gorillas in volcanoes national park are grouped in about 10 habituated gorilla families and this population makes Volcanoes National Park one of the best destinations in Rwanda to carry out a gorilla trek. You will spend one hour with the gorillas when you spot them. You will be granted the chance to take pictures and videos of these primates with your phone flashlight off and the sound to avoid any inconvenience of both you and the gorillas. Apart from making your own observations, a guide will explain to you the details about these gorillas like how they behave and associate with each other. After your gorilla trekking experience, you will head back to the lodge.
You will have your lunch break and after you will check out of the lodge and embark on your journey to Iby’iwacu cultural center for a cultural experience. You will have your tour around this cultural center as you interact with the guides that you will find at this place who will give you the history of this place. The locals will entertain you through dancing their cultural dance and teaching how they prepare their local dishes in Rwanda. At iby’iwacu cultural center, you will get to know the way of life of the Rwandese and after a guide will take you briefly to Kimironko market where you will buy souvenirs.

After buying the souvenirs, the guide will then take you back to Kigali airport.
