Highlights of 10 Days Rwanda Classic Safari
Day 1: Arrival and transfer to your hotel in Kigali
On arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be warmly greeted by our Representative. He will brief you about the safari and drive you to your hotel in Kigali City.
Depending on your arrival time, you will enjoy visiting Kigali City, the Kigali Genocide Memorial Site and other amazing sites.
Dinner and overnight at Steptown Hotel for Budget, Des Milles Collins Hotel for Mid-range, Kigali Serena Hotel for Luxury.
Day 2: Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park, En-route Activities
After a delicious breakfast, you will transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park with a drive through the magnificent hills and farmlands of the countryside. Have a stopover at the Royal King’s Palace in Nyanza for a cultural tour and learn more about the history of Rwanda. Continue and visit the cultural museum at Rwesero. Enjoy lunch in Butare Town and continue to the park with a visit at the Rwanda National Museum.
Arrive in the park in the evening, and check in at the lodge for relaxation, dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 3: Chimpanzee Trekking Experience
Have an early morning breakfast, then head to the park headquarters in Nyungwe Forest for a briefing about chimpanzee trekking. a ranger guide will brief you about chimpanzee trekking dos and don’ts. Head into the forest searching for chimpanzees; the duration through the forest to see the playful chimpanzees depends on the movement of the chimpanzees and where they spent their previous night.
Once you locate the chimpanzee troop, you will be allowed to spend one hour while observing them play, feed and groom each other. You will also see a variety of animals and birds, like the Rwenzori Turaco, white-casqued hornbill, and black and white colobus monkeys, among others. Return to your lodge for relaxation, have dinner and overnight stay as above.
Day 4: Relaxed Morning, Afternoon Canopy Walk
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast and spend the morning at leisure at the lodge and make use of the swimming pool at the lodge or spa if you wish. Enjoy lunch and in the afternoon go for a canopy walk, a metallic bridge 50 meters in length suspended from large trees. You will be able to see amazing rainforest with a bird’s-eye view, spotting wildlife moving about below you, then drive back to your lodge to spend the evening at leisure.

Day 5: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park, Evening Iby’Iwacu Experience
Enjoy breakfast, check out and transfer to Ruhengeri. En route, visit the Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village, where you may have a wonderful and interactive experience about the Rwandan traditions, culture and way of life of the local people. Continue to the park, arriving in the late evening, and check in at your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 6: Golden Monkey tracking
Enjoy an early breakfast, meet your driver guide and head to the park headquarters for a briefing about golden monkey tracking dos and don’ts. With armed rangers and guides, enter into the forest looking for golden monkeys, when you locate these beautiful creatures, you will enjoy watching them play in the bamboo trees and pick shoots to eat. You are allowed to take photos.
Later return to the lodge, have an early lunch and spend the afternoon at leisure, relaxing at your lodge. You can have a walk around Ruhengeri. Dinner and overnight stay as above.
Day 7: Gorilla trekking in Parc National Des Volcans
Wake up early for breakfast and return to the park for gorilla trekking, joining other visitors for a briefing about gorilla trekking dos and don’ts. With armed rangers and guides, head into the forest looking for mountain gorillas. The trek takes approximately 2 to 5 hours or more depending on the movement of the gorillas and where they spent their previous night.
Along the trek you will see other forest creatures, and once you locate the gorillas, you will spend one hour in their presence watching them feed, groom and take care of each other. Return to the lodge for an evening of rest and dinner.
Day 8: Transfer back to Kigali and to Akagera National Park & Afternoon Game Drive
Enjoy a delicious breakfast, check out of your lodge and depart from Kigali City. Enjoy lunch in Kigali and later transfer to Akagera National Park, arriving in the late afternoon. With an en-route game drive, you will head to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 9: Morning game drive and Boat ride on Lake Ihema
Enjoy an early breakfast and head out for a full Akagera National Park experience; take part in a morning game drive and boat ride on Lake Ihema. On the game drive, you will explore the Northern Circuit in search of animals like lions, leopards, rhinos, elephants, giraffes and several bird species.
Return to the lodge for lunch and in the afternoon go for a boat ride on Lake Ihema; expect to enjoy beautiful views of the surrounding hills and swamps. Expect to see hippos, crocodiles and more bird species. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay as above.
Day 10: Transfer back to Kigali and Departure
Enjoy morning breakfast, check out of the lodge and drive to Kigali, where you will be dropped off at the airport for your flight back home.
