Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Pick up and transfer to a hotel in Entebbe
Upon your arrival at Entebbe International Airport on the first day of the 10-day Best of Uganda safari, our driver guide will greet you and provide a briefing about the safari. After this, you will be transferred to a hotel in Entebbe for dinner and an overnight stay at either Cycad Guest House (budget) or Best Western Hotel (midrange).
Day 2: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park
After breakfast on the second day of the 10-day best of Uganda safari, our driver guide will collect you from the hotel to embark on the journey to Murchison Falls National Park, the largest national park in Uganda. The journey lasts approximately 5 to 6 hours by car, with a stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for rhino tracking. After this, you will proceed to Masindi town for a lunch break before continuing your trip. After lunch, you will head to Murchison Falls National Park. Upon arrival, you will drive straight to the top of the falls, where you can take in the stunning views of the waterfall and relish the refreshing water splashes, among other experiences. After visiting the waterfall, you will proceed to check into the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay at either Parkside Safari Lodge (budget) or Pakuba Safari Lodge (midrange).
Day 3: Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise
On the third day of the 10-day best of Uganda safari, you will enjoy an early breakfast before your driver guide arrives to take you for a morning game drive. During this adventure, you will be treated to breathtaking views of various animals, including giraffes, buffaloes, elephants, Uganda kobs, waterbucks, lions, leopards, warthogs, and Jackson’s hartebeest, among others. After the game drive, you will return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
After lunch, you will embark on an exhilarating boat cruise to the base of the falls, where you can observe animals such as elephants, antelopes, and buffaloes drinking at the water’s edge. You will also have the opportunity to see hippos and Nile crocodiles in the water, as well as a variety of aquatic bird species, including hornbills, cormorants, kingfishers, bee-eaters, and fish eagles, among others. After the captivating boat cruise, you will return to the lodge for an evening of relaxation, dinner, and an overnight stay as previously mentioned.
Day 4: Transfer to Kibale National Park
After breakfast on day 4 of the 10-day best of Uganda safari, you will check out of the lodge and meet your driver guide to begin the journey to Kibale Forest National Park, situated in western Uganda. The journey spans an entire day, featuring an en-route lunch and breathtaking views of the stunning scenery, landscapes, tea plantations, Rwenzori Mountains, and the picturesque crater lakes, among other highlights. Upon arrival at Kibale National Park, you will proceed to check into the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay at Kibale Safari Lodge.-budget/ Chimpanzee guest house – midrange
Day 5: Chimpanzee trekking and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
On the fifth day of the 10-day best of Uganda safari, After an early breakfast, your driver guide will collect you from the lodge and take you to the Kanyachu park headquarters for a briefing on chimpanzee trekking. After the briefing, you will embark on a trek through the forest in pursuit of chimpanzees. The trek to see chimpanzees in Kibale National Park lasts between 30 minutes and 4 hours, depending on the location of the chimpanzees. Along the way, you will be treated to sights of various primates and a variety of bird species, among other attractions. Upon locating the chimpanzees, you will have the opportunity to spend one hour in their natural habitat, allowing you to observe their feeding, playing, fighting, hunting, and resting behaviors, as well as to take photos and record videos. After the one-hour interaction with the chimpanzees, you will make your way back to the park headquarters, where you will reunite with your driver guide and head back to the lodge for lunch.
After lunch, you will check out of the lodge and meet your driver guide for the transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park, the second largest national park in Uganda. Your journey will offer breathtaking views of the scenery and landscape. Upon reaching the park, you will embark on an evening game drive, where you will be rewarded with sightings of animals such as elephants, Uganda kobs, buffaloes, waterbucks, bushbucks, and warthogs as they return to their resting areas. After the game drive, you will head back to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay at Queen Elizabeth Safari Lodge.-budget/ Elephant habitat –midrange
Day 6: Morning game drive, optional lion tracking experience, and afternoon boat cruise.
On the sixth day of the 10-day best of Uganda safari, After an early breakfast, your driver guide will collect you from the lodge for a morning game drive in the Kasenyi plains. On the game drive, you will have the opportunity to observe various animals such as elephants, buffaloes, warthogs, Uganda kobs, and waterbucks grazing in the open savannah plains. You may also see predators like lions, leopards, and hyenas as they search for their morning hunt, along with a variety of bird species. After the game drive, you will return to the lodge for lunch.
After lunch, you will embark on an engaging boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, a waterway that links Lake Edward and Lake George. During this experience, you will have the opportunity to observe large herds of hippos and Nile crocodiles in the water, as well as buffaloes, elephants, warthogs, and waterbucks drinking along the shores. Additionally, you will spot various water birds, including hornbills, cormorants, fish eagles, and kingfishers, among others. After the boat ride, you will head back to the lodge for an evening of relaxation, dinner, and an overnight stay as previously mentioned.
Day 7: Transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park
On the seventh day of 9th Day of 10 days best of Uganda safari, you will savor a leisurely breakfast, check out of the lodge, and meet your driver guide for a transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. During your journey, there will be a stop in the Ishasha sector, located in the southern region of Queen Elizabeth National Park. Here, you will have the opportunity to observe the renowned tree-climbing lions as they rest leisurely on the branches of acacia and fig trees. After the game drive in the Ishasha sector, you will enjoy lunch before proceeding to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Upon arrival, you will check into your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay at either Buhoma Community Rest Camp (budget) or Buhoma Haven Lodge (midrange).
Day 8: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi impenetrable national park
On the morning of day 8 during the 10-day best of Uganda safari, you will enjoy an early breakfast before packing your lunch. You will then meet your driver guide to head to the park headquarters for a briefing on gorilla trekking. After the briefing, you will embark on a trek through the jungle in pursuit of the mountain gorillas. This journey can last anywhere from 30 minutes to 7 hours, depending on the gorillas’ location, as they tend to roam in search of food.

While trekking, you will have the chance to see various primate species, a variety of birds, and diverse plants. Once you locate the mountain gorillas, you will enjoy an hour in their natural habitat, allowing you to observe their behaviors, watch them engage in their daily activities, and capture photos and videos. After the one-hour experience with the gentle giants, you will return to the lodge for relaxation, dinner, and an overnight stay as previously mentioned.
Day 9: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park
After breakfast on the ninth day of the safari, you will check out of the lodge and meet your driver guide for the transfer to Lake Mburo National Park. Along the journey, you will appreciate breathtaking views of the landscape, scenery, farmlands, and countryside, among other sights. Upon arrival, you will check into the lodge for lunch, after which you will embark on an evening game drive, allowing you to view a variety of animals including buffaloes, oribi, waterbucks, giraffes, zebras, and topi, among others. After the game drive, you will return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay at Eagles Nest Lodge (budget) or Arcadia Cottages (midrange).
Day 10: Morning game drive and departure to Kampala
On the final day of the 10-day best of Uganda safari, you will savor breakfast, check out of the lodge, and then meet your driver guide for a morning game drive, allowing you to see animals you may have missed the day before. After the game drive, you will exit the park and begin your journey back to Kampala. During the journey, you will enjoy lunch at the Equator, have the opportunity to take photos, and purchase craft souvenirs. From the Equator, you will continue to Kampala, arriving in the early evening. Upon your arrival, your driver guide will take you to Entebbe International Airport for your departure flight or drop you off at any advised destination.
